David has only been at Dalton for a few weeks now, but already he has heard about the Warblers. So when he hears acapella strains wafting down the hall, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he follows them.

He stays in the doorway, leaning against the frame a little, to watch the group as they sing.

"Where is home? I mean, what part of then country."

"Sheffield? It's where I grew up, anyway. I was teaching in Bristol before I came here."

"I have no idea where Sheffield is," he admits honestly, but the clueless look on his face is pretty cute. "Though I've heard of Bristol."

He smiled at that expression, holding the door for Blaine when they reached the coffee shop. "It's in the north. You aren't missing out on much."

Blaine chuckled a bit at that. "Is being the north bad?"

"No, but it gives you a slight frame of reference, assuming you at least know the shape of the country."

He was teasing a little.

"Vaguely," Blaine joked. "I did transfer to a public school my senior year so we can't vouch for my education."

"Just remember Scotland's at the top," David joked in return as they approached the counter.

"And Ireland in there somewhere," Blaine supplied in a joking tone.

"Don't say that to an Irishman," David answered, laughing and turning to order.

Blaine grinned, enjoying David's laughter. "I'll keep that in mind."

"You grew up in Ohio, though?"

It doesn't seem quite as exotic to him as it used to, but it's still a very different world.

"That's tight. I spent some time in New York though."

"Is that where you were before you came back to Dalton? What were you doing there?"

"Oh," Blaine said, his face fell a bit. "I was there for a guy. I was going to NYADA too, but mostly it was the guy. We broke up so now I'm back here." It was painful and embarrassing to talk about but he managed to mostly keep it together.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," David said, touching his shoulder lightly as he moved to find them a table.

Blaine felt an odd thrill through his body at David's touch. "It happens," he with forced casualness.

"Yes, I suppose so," David said, a little awkwardly, sliding into a seat. "How do you find coming back to Ohio after New York?"

"Hmm," Blaine thought about that a second. "Well, it's comforting to have Dalton to come back too."

"You don't find it...limited?" David asked, tilting his head thoughtfully.

"I find it... calming. Why? Do you find it limited?"

He thought a moment. "No, not really. It's something of an adventure for me. I just know...when I went back to Sheffield it did feel very limited."

"Did you enjoy Sheffield while you were going up?"

He laughed softly. "No, not at all."

"That might be the difference," Blaine pointed out. Then, after a moment, a signal bell went through the school and Blaine glanced up at the clock on the wall of the cafe. "I should probably get going," he said. Then he dug into his bag. "You and I should do this again. Only this time at dinner." He took out some paper and wrote his number down. "Are you free this weekend?"
